Marine transport is the movement of people, goods, etc. by boat, ship, and other vessels across seas, oceans, lakes, canals and rivers.
Sea freight is a branch of shipping that plays an important role in the development of foreign trade. This branch of transportation is one of the most suitable methods of transportation due to its advantages such as low cost of transporting goods, paying for valid documents and speeding up the process of carrying large volumes of goods.

Advantages of sea transportation:

Due to having a lot of space to transport goods with more dimensions and weight, they are more suitable.
More affordable than all types of freight forwarding (except for rail transportation) and fixed fare rates.
Due to the use of a natural substrate in various situations where other types of transportation are interfering, sea freight is able to transport goods and cargo.

Disadvantages of sea transportation:

Freezing of rivers and canals in winter and fluctuations in water level in different seasons of sea transportation with problems.
Sometimes unforeseen weather changes may result in damage to the cargo or the risk of reversal of the cargo.
Low speed (relative to air transport) and lack of access to some countries to the seas and oceans Types

of ships carrying traditional cargo (public goods): For unloading and loading of these ships, port equipment or in cases where the ship docked in a smaller port, the crane of

the ship was used. Currently, multi-purpose ships are responsible for these types of ships.

Container ships: These ships are designed in a way that is suitable for carrying containers. Many of these ships do not have the means of loading and unloading and containers are unloaded by gantry cranes of ports, although ships that visit ports without such equipment must have the necessary equipment.

RO-RO (Ro-Ro) ships: The cargo that is required by their nature is first loaded onto a vehicle such as a truck, and then this vehicle is driven into the ship and at the destination of the so-called on its own foot is driven off the ship.

Ships: LASH are ships capable of loading and carrying a kind of barge that are used for transportation between oceans and internal waterways.
Large bulk carriers: These ships are also called TRAMP because they are often rented for a trip and are specially designed for the transportation of grains and grains and bulk commodities such as coal, iron ore and the like.

Tankers: These types of ships are called sea giants. And they make up the largest part of the fleet.

COASTAL OR FEEDER SHIPS: These ships are used in coastal waters and short distances and carry cargo of large ships that are unable to dock in sub-ports or do not plan to dock at a particular port.
